Question 1

What is a Prediction 'Mouth' on Makemouth?

Accepted Answer

A Mouth is a peer-to-peer prediction challenge created by any user. As the creator, you state a take, set your stake, and define your odds. Other users who disagree stake against you (countering your take). There is zero house edge.

Question 2

How do custom odds and counter-stakes work?

Accepted Answer

When you set odds of 2.0x, a counter needs to match your exact stake to challenge you. At higher odds like 3.0x, you require a smaller counter-stake (2.0x total payout for joiner), giving you full control over risk/reward.

Question 3

What is the difference between Single-Counter and Split Mouths?

Accepted Answer

A single-counter mouth requires one participant to take the entire opposing stake. A split mouth allows multiple users to contribute smaller amounts until the counter pool is fully funded.

Question 4

What is an Arena and how do Parimutuel Pools work?

Accepted Answer

An Arena is a community parimutuel prediction market for major events. Unlike 1-on-1 mouths, an Arena pools stakes across multiple choices (e.g. YES/NO or Team A vs Team B vs Draw). Winners split the entire net losing pool proportionally.

Question 5

How are Arena dividends calculated with zero residue?

Accepted Answer

Every winner gets back 100% of their original stake plus a proportional dividend from the net losing pool. Platform fees are deducted only from the losing pool, ensuring winners always make a profit.

Question 6

What event categories and topics can I predict on?

Accepted Answer

You can create or join predictions on Sports (Football, Basketball, Boxing), Entertainment (Awards, Reality TV, Box Office), Crypto & Prices (Bitcoin, Gold, Stocks), Politics (Elections, Debates), Economy, and Weather.

Question 7

How does Makemouth Social Escrow protect my money?

Accepted Answer

When you create or counter a mouth or stake in an arena, your funds are placed in automated smart escrow. The funds cannot be withdrawn or tampered with by either party until the event is settled according to verified rules.

Question 8

Which currencies are supported for deposits and withdrawals?

Accepted Answer

Makemouth currently operates with Nigerian Naira (NGN) via instant bank transfer and virtual accounts. Support for USD stablecoins (USDT/USDC) and additional local currencies is rolling out soon.

Question 9

Who decides the winning outcome of a prediction?

Accepted Answer

How do Makemouth Raffles work and how are winners chosen?
